The Himalayas

The region of Ladakh / Zanskar, is located in northern India, in the heart of the Himalayas with a population scattered in villages between 3500 and 5700 m of altitude.
The population is isolated from the rest of the world for nearly eight months each year, it is one of the most isolated and inhabited regions of the wold.
The principles of the association are based on the respect for the people, rejecting any spirit of colonization, which implies a pure and simple desire to help, devoid of any spirit of superiority. Projects are built from requests made by the population, nothing is imposed.
They are involved in projects which are made respecting their culture «Buddhism», local materials, theirs crafts, their agriculture. It is essential that at the end of the projects, they are completely autonomous and independent.
